Á morgun, föstudaginn 28. nóvember, hefst Norðurlandameistaramótið í sundi 2025 í Laugardalslaug, þar sem fremstu sundmenn Norðurlandanna mætast í þriggja daga keppni. Ísland tekur þátt bæði með sterkan landsliðshóp í opnum flokki, og stóran hóp para­sundfólks.

Mótið fer fram dagana 28.-30. nóvember í Laugardalslaug, og er keppt í undanrásum á morgnana og úrslitum síðdegis. Upphitun hefst alla daga kl. 08:00 og fyrstu sund hefjast kl. 09:30, en úrslitahlutar kl. 17:00.

Þjóðirnar sem taka þátt að þessu sinni eru Danmörk, Eistland, Færeyjar, Finnland, Ísland, Lettland, Litháen, Noregur og Svíþjóð. Fjölbreyttur hópur keppenda mætir til leiks í öllum aldursflokkum - bæði í junior og senior - og í paraflokkum S1–S19, þar sem keppt verður í opnum MCPS-flokkum samkvæmt reglum World Para Swimming.

Íslenskir sundmenn hafa sýnt frábæra takta undanfarnar vikur á ÍM25 og á alþjóðlegum mótum sem gerir það að verkum að þetta verður hrikalega spennandi mót. Hjá para­sundfólkinu okkar er einnig mikill kraftur, en ný íslensk met og heimsmet á ÍM25 sýna að íslenskir keppendur eru í toppformi.

The Nordic Championships in Swimming 2025 begin tomorrow, Friday 28th of November, in Laugardalslaug, Iceland, where the top swimmers from across the Nordic and Baltic countries will meet for three days of competition. Iceland fields a strong senior team, a promising group of juniors, and a large squad of para swimmers competing in multiple classifications.

The competition takes place 28th-30th of November in the 25m pool of Laugardalslaug, with heats in the mornings and finals in the late afternoons. Warm-up begins every day at 08:00, heats start at 09:30, and finals begin at 17:00 each day.

Nations competing at this year’s edition include Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. All age groups are represented with both junior and senior swimmers, and in para swimming classifications S1–S19, competing according to the World Para Swimming MCPS system.

Icelandic swimmers have been in excellent shape in the lead-up to the Nordic Championships, with standout performances at the Icelandic Championships (ÍM25) earlier this month and strong results internationally. Iceland’s para swimmers have also delivered a series of impressive results recently, including new Icelandic records - and even world records - which makes the para competition especially exciting to follow this weekend.
