26.08.2021As you may know by now the Nordic Open Masters will be held in Reykjavík, Iceland on 8-9th of October 2021. Some speculations have arisen whether or not the meet will be held with originally published schedule or if new rules will be implemented due to Covid-19 restrictions.

After a Government cabinet meeting today our Minister of Health, Ms. Svandís Svavarsdóttir confirmed that during larger organized events, such as sports events, the maximum participants rule of 200 persons would be prolonged until September 17th. Included in this number would be competitors, referees and staff at competition area.

However – It was further stated that work had already started on implementing a rule of maximum 500 persons at events, depending on a negative Rapid-test for each person attending. The protocol of this process has not been published with further detail but we remain optimistic that this will be implemented within the next 3-4 weeks, which would mean that the Nordic Open Masters would operate quite normally.
